Small Town in Ramsau

 
Vartan Avedian is currently living peacefully in Glendale California. He had spent more than seven years in a little village in Vian called Ramsau. He is currently seventy-one years old and is enjoying his life working as a car mechanic. Vartan has much memories of how little the land in which he used to live was, among the 500 villagers who also lived there. He preferred to have been still living in the society of the villagers back in Ramsau, although he would rather live in America due to the vast opportunities it provides. He had lived among strangers who did not speak his language, but as the years past during his stay, he had some knowledge in communicating with others around him. He worked as a lumberjack back in Ramsau with some of his village friends.

Ramsau was very nice, as it was in middle two mountains, it's very nice place, has a one small river, and small, small bridge, uhh......has a, next side has a one church, this side has a, one hotel, I lived there and one restaurant after this one has one small supermarket, next uhh.... across from the supermarket has a one uh.. Post office, second floor, has a one for .....g-government...Leader place. Ramsau was together, compact, you could walk to the church and in five minutes you'd be by the store. I believe there were maybe, eight, 500 people living in Ramsau. It was a very, uh...small village but, everyone has a small, small, in the mountain has a house or a Cabin which they live there.

They have uhh...some of them in the construction, some wood men, some jingle a" jangle playing or has a uhh....a next uh...next city's work. Active in their.....or a in the church has just a priest and two, two people live uh... work there and two people their outside, on the flowers or something they were gardeners...and...uh...in the hotel and restaurant, has a eight, nine person work there and the supermarket has four people uh...work, and post office three. I don't know how they got paid, but I think maybe by credit or, for bank problem I don't know. But they used regular Euros for money. Uhh......my favorite person has a two people, uh... one is my uh, hotel leader this owner...and next one is uh... one man has a name Hinz, uh their very nice people very good people. Uhh... the hotel's owner name was Groober. Groober has a one restaurant and hotel, and the...back yard has a one big uh pool and has a big park. It was a very nice place. Hinz was another person has a, maybe half-mile next site, has a one very big place for uh..., everyone need to make the house or something. He was a woodworker, very nice people, very nice person. The supermarkets had a one billboard and everything is posted there...someone comes through and reads the news off it. It also had two-two channel for TV. For Austria channel has a two channel, RF-1 and RF-2, everything has for news talk to someone has uh...something. RF-1 don't have a advertise for insider, something.....but, but has a ...every two hours, half hours has a just advertise for some-something, everything.

Umm....yes villagers celebrated such as October first and uh....Easter, New Year, "basically" the same traditions. No just has uh...for uh...every celebration, has a somebody uh... go to church has a musical play, musical performance, which were for special occasions.uh....Oktoberfest was my favorite because uh....everyone bring uh...two glass beer, it was free, one glass two glass is free and has a for...everyone make the uh.....200 meter wood is uh clean it and put it for a something...uh has decoration and very nice system, maybe forty a" fifty people would stand it there for outside and everyone, musical....place has a nest site and everyone...uh.....dancing and drinking and, very happy. Some people got little bit drunk, but everyone is happy. Christmas, umm...and had fireworks...everyone is uh.....nice time, New year has a....fireworks and was a very beautiful time, everyone was happy.

The surrounding nature was a very nice place. Nice uh...mountain, very nice, everything is beautiful. There were a lot of tree, there is a lot of trees uh...this uh very has uh big forest. The forest has a gazelle, and...has a wolf has a...deer and a rivers...and ski's...has a ski place, has a there one big mountain, next to the uh...Ramsau, but Ramsau people went there and ski. Yes every...every year at charismas time, has a snow in there uh...many, much snow come. The climate is that every year, two month has a little snow, one month would be hot...yes...and the four-six month would rain. Mostly year round it's raining yes, and windy, very windy and three-three months has a four or five time....a six time, three months... four months has a snow come and a...top the mountain uh has a place for, that place is cold, so they go skiing.

Uh....I want uh...first uh...sec-second years is uh....so-so, but the third, forth, fifth I had a lot of friends, everyone knew me. I like, very nice climate...very nice, good...seasons. Rain is no, not good, snow is good, go skiing or something is very nice. Yes of course I got happy when the sun came out! Go-go to pool, we went to pool and rivers...the swimming. New Year was the most memorable thing for me. Fireworks, everyone has a many uh, fireworks they would buy it and make it. Police didn't care for the fireworks, because it's new years and everyone is happy, uh go straight and playing...dancing, everyone is happy. YA! and of course, they drink beer. This took place outside of the tent, nice place, nice time you know? Great time, for me that is, but everyone had a great time.

The country life was everyone in, mostly the same uh, everyone has a for a, farmer's morning mostly would get up at four-o-clock, five-o-clock in the morning uh... clean the animals place or something. Uh...the rest of the people had a uh...you see what time he needed to do job. Somebody to wake up at seven-o-clock and somebody nine-o-clock, a six-o-clock in the morning work...maybe somebody next time has a different job at a different time. They had shifts. The factory, has a one big factory....uh... has a three times a day three uh three times a day, change the person. Uh...somebody would either night work, somebody morning, somebody afternoon...you know? There were fifty person is a there work there. So its morning job, night job, morning and afternoon job, three....everyone has a eight hours work there....night time, morning, afternoon. Yes people enjoyed outside activities, and is umm...ten years...ten years apart people meet...eighty years, eighty-five years...old, old older people all of them drove a bike.

This has a one uh...I lived in Ramsau, after five, uh three and a half mile...five kilometer, another city bigger than this city....bigger than my village uh that place has a maybe two-three thousand people, and uh somebody need a something buy or something don't drive their car, take the bike and five kilometer uh make the bike, went there, drove there. The other villages name is Hinefield...has a very big train station uh...ten, maybe ten very big strole (He meant store) and general shops for everything, doctor, everything. Sadly there was no hospital, but just has a two doctor: one, for a tooth, uhh, tooth doctor, teeth doctor dentist and...another for body doctor. I miss just the uh area and its friendly community, everyone has a friendly there, its very nice people, but here is not the same, not too, to much, because we're expand.
